Weekend of Making
On January 30th and 31st a supergroup of Tufts' making-related clubs (MAKE, Robotics, Entrepreneurs, Crafts Human Factors) held a series of 18 hands-on workshops and activities in two of Tufts' makerspaces; the brand new Maker Studio at CLIC (574 Boston Ave) and the Crafts Center in Lewis Hall.
The entire Tufts community was invited to join in for a weekend full of projects, hobbies, food and learning by making from 12-5pm each day, and a lot of people did. Nearly 100 makers stopped by the Studio on Saturday and over 50 visited the Crafts Center on Sunday. Many attendees were seeing our spaces for the very first time, and got to learn new skills while making cool things and having fun. It was a great time.
This event was the result of unprecedented collaboration between Tufts MAKE, Robotics, Entrepreneurs, Human Factors, the Maker Studio, and the Crafts Center, and was sponsored by the Center for Engineering Education and Outreach (CEEO) and the Mechanical Engineering department.
