User Interface Design

Sketch is a new user interface design tool that’s rapidly replacing Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator as the de facto UI tool for designers. It allows you to easily create pixel-perfect logos, app interfaces, website concepts, and - combined with a few other tools - fully interactive prototypes of your ideas.

In this hands-on workshop we’ll briefly go over the basics of how to use Sketch and then jump straight into creating realistic-looking app interface components. We’ll also look at how pairing Sketch with a tool like Pixate can allow you to create awesome prototypes that behave just like real apps, or how apps like POP - Prototyping on Paper can help you test ideas quickly.

This workshop ties naturally into the Usability Testing workshop that immediately follows it. If you'd like to test out your interface or a new idea with other students, joining that workshop is also recommended.
